In this image of the Virgin, designed and painted by Kiko Argüello, the Virgin is depicted “welcoming” the child as a symbol of accepting the word and will of God.
The history of the Neocatechumenal Way dates back to the declarations of Kiko Argüello, who said he had a vision of the Virgin Mary in 1959, in which she asked him to “create Christian communities like the Holy Family of Nazareth” that live in Humility, Simplicity, and Praise where the other is Christ.
